Sudanese Ministry of Health Undergoes CPHQ Training

Senior officials of the Federal Ministry of Health of Sudan and other administrators of healthcare organizations based in Khartoum, Sudan, participated in a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) training workshop held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 15–18 October 2010.

Delivered by Dr Andy Teh, Principal of Teh & Associates, the training was customized to meet the needs of the participants, who included some of the highest ranking officials in the Federal Ministry of Health of Sudan.

Most participants were medical doctors with training and deep experience in clinical medicine, public health, and healthcare administration. A strong desire to advance the quality of healthcare in their respective organizations and country was clearly evident throughout the workshop.

In our four days, these leaders eloquently articulated their views on healthcare quality, especially the role of leadership and management in improving quality in healthcare. They also discussed how they achieved dramatic and sustainable results by aligning community, organizational and personal goals, elucidated their focus on prevention and early detection, and shared some innovative programmes that were recently implemented in Sudan.

By pursuing the CPHQ credential, these healthcare leaders demonstrate their commitment to excellence in healthcare quality, not just with words but also with action.

True leadership. Truly visionary.

@Ming Yen – Many thanks for your comment and for dropping by on the site! The whole experience in KL – the sharing of ideas, the learning, the interaction – was incredible.

In our work, we are extremely fortunate to be driven by three things mentioned in our article on motivation:

      1. Autonomy – we select the jobs we will take on, and our clients give us plenty of freedom on how the desired results will be achieved
      2. Mastery – we continue to seek and identify areas for improvement, and continue to hone our skills
      3. Purpose – we believe we are doing something bigger than ourselves

A number of exciting things are lined up over coming months – you can keep up with the latest happenings by subscribing to the Teh & Associates Blog RSS Feed.

@Sara Wadidi—CPHQ exam preparation workshops are scheduled in a few cities. Unfortunately, we won’t be conducting any in Sudan for the rest of 2014 or early 2015.
